Privacy policy
How we handle your personal and health information
Beautybroker.com Pty Ltd, trading as Beauty Broker ("we", "us"), is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and how you can access or correct it.
Last updated 23 September 2026
What we collect
- Contact details: your name, email address and phone number.
- Enquiry details: the procedures you are interested in, preferred destinations, timing, budget and how you heard about us.
- Health information: your age, height and weight, medical and family history, medicines, allergies, lifestyle, pregnancy information, photographs of the area you would like treated, medical documents you choose to upload, and anything else you tell us about your health.
- Travel and insurance information you choose to share, such as preferred dates and whether you have private health insurance.
- Communications with us, and notes our team makes to help plan your enquiry.
- Website data: pages visited, device and browser details, IP address and advertising identifiers collected through cookies and similar technology (see "Cookies and advertising").
You do not have to give us any information, but without it we cannot match you with a surgeon or hospital or obtain a quote. You may contact us anonymously or with a pseudonym for general questions.
How we collect it
Mostly directly from you: through our website forms, email, phone and messaging. We may also receive information about you from hospitals and surgeons you ask us to deal with, for example a quote, treatment plan or follow-up instructions.
Why we collect, use and share it
- To respond to your enquiry and keep in touch with you about it.
- To identify surgeons and hospitals that may suit the procedure you want, and to obtain quotes and treatment information from them.
- To help coordinate your consultation, surgery dates, pre-operative requirements, records and follow-up with the hospital, and to help arrange transfers and advise on where to stay.
- To run, secure and improve our website and service, and to measure our advertising.
- To send you information about our service, which you can opt out of at any time.
- To comply with the law and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Your consent to health information being collected and shared
Health information is sensitive information. By submitting it to us you consent to us collecting it, using it for the purposes above and sharing it with the hospitals and surgeons we approach for you, and with the service providers listed below.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect information already shared, and it means we will no longer be able to help with your enquiry.
Sharing with hospitals and surgeons overseas
Our service involves treatment outside Australia, so we disclose information to hospitals and surgeons in the countries you are considering. These currently include Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Turkey, Indonesia (Bali) and Malaysia, and may include other countries you ask us about.
When we first ask hospitals for a quote we share a summary that identifies you only by your first name, the first letter of your surname and a customer number. It includes your procedure, health answers and photos, but not your email address or phone number. Once you decide to go ahead with a hospital, it will need your full identity and contact details to treat you.
Overseas hospitals and surgeons are not subject to the Australian Privacy Principles and their countries may have different privacy laws. By giving us your information and asking us to seek quotes or coordinate treatment, you consent to this disclosure on the basis that we will not be required to take reasonable steps to ensure the overseas recipient handles your information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles, and that we will not be accountable under the Privacy Act for how they handle it (Australian Privacy Principle 8.2(b)). Each hospital handles your information under its own privacy policy and local law.
Our service providers
We use trusted providers to run our business. They handle personal information only to provide their services to us:
- Website hosting and our patient database: Amazon Web Services, in Sydney, Australia.
- Customer relationship management and messaging: HighLevel, which may store information in the United States.
- Email: Google Workspace and Twilio SendGrid, which may store information in the United States and other countries.
- Advertising measurement: Meta Platforms (see "Cookies and advertising").
Your medical history, photos and documents are kept in our own database in Australia and are not sent to our customer relationship management or advertising providers.
Storage and security
We store information on secured servers in Australia with encrypted connections, restricted access and encrypted backups. Hospital quote links are unique, unguessable and can be revoked. No system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee the security of information sent over the internet or held by third parties such as hospitals and email providers.
We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy and to meet our legal obligations, and then delete or de-identify it. If a data breach is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.
Accessing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask to access or correct the information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us (email partnerships@beautybroker.com). We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity, and in limited cases the law allows us to refuse; if so we will tell you why.
We cannot delete information already provided to a hospital or surgeon; please contact them directly and we can help you do so.
Marketing
We may contact you about your enquiry and our service. You can opt out of marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email, replying "stop" to a message or contacting us. We do not sell your personal information.
Age
Our service is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Privacy complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please email partnerships@beautybroker.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within five business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
