Safety and aftercare planning

Plan the return home before you leave Australia.

Treatment travel carries real risks. Preparation, local support, follow-up, records and contingency arrangements should be understood before flights are booked.

01

Before travel

Preparation, required documents, treatment timing and provider-issued instructions are brought together before departure.

02

In destination

Know the local contact pathway, expected stay near the facility, planned check-ins and escalation process.

03

Before flying home

Travel timing follows guidance from the treating professional, including medication and fit-to-fly considerations.

04

After returning

Keep the provider follow-up pathway, records handover and concern or complication contacts clear and accessible.

Insurance needs a direct conversation

Ordinary travel insurance may not cover treatment-related complications, changed travel dates or an extended recovery stay. Read exclusions carefully and ask the insurer direct questions before relying on a policy.

Keep records accessible

Before returning home, confirm which treatment records, instructions and contact details will be supplied. Store copies where you and a trusted support person can reach them.

Know the escalation pathway

Ask who to contact during the trip, what happens outside normal hours and how concerns are handled after you return to Australia. BeautyBroker coordinates information and logistics; it does not replace clinical care or emergency services.
