Inpatient admission

KUIMS’s inpatient admission process begins after outpatient treatment: when the doctor decides on hospitalisation, the patient takes the issued admission form to the Admission desk on the first floor. For admission on the day of the visit, the hospital asks the patient to read and complete its Hospitalization Agreement and provide necessary information, such as a joint guarantor. KUIMS states: “A joint guarantor can be the householder or an adult with official employment. (Not applicable for minors)”. The written agreement and health insurance card are submitted together at the Admission desk. If same-day admission is difficult because beds are unavailable or personal circumstances prevent it, KUIMS says an admission reservation is required. When a reservation follows a lack of beds, the hospital says it will phone the patient in the morning on the day the preferred room type becomes available. Inpatient payments and discharge

For inpatient payments, KUIMS lists the first-floor Discharge desk on weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. At night and on holidays, payments can be made at the Emergency Medical Center reception on the first basement level (B1). After remitting a payment, patients are asked to check deposit details at the Discharge desk. Interim medical-fee bills are delivered directly to the patient on the ward once a week, and the bill is due within two days of receipt. KUIMS states that the discharge decision is made the previous day, but the exact amount due is known only on discharge day after review. On discharge day, a ward nurse guides the discharge steps; after receiving a bill, the patient pays at the first-floor Discharge desk. The receipt is then presented to the nurse’s office on the ward.
